HTC Touch Diamond Reviews at PhoneMagThe device is prominently covered in high gloss plastic casing. It is described as a “fingerprint magnet”, which would be expected of such casing. Hopefully that self cleaning case for it we saw comes into play. According to the review HTC has to make some sacrifices in the name of fashion. The review says the back of the device is indeed faceted, it is not a visual effect of some kind.

The implementation doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out, however it is certainly questionable. The tip of the stylus is magnetized and inside the silo there is a tiny magnet strip that draws it in whenever you attempt to put the stylus where it belongs. While this setup is handy, make no mistake about that, we have certain doubts about how long it will actually serve the user. Obviously, the magnet is pretty much the only thing that keeps the stylus inside, but it will lose its power with time and therefore its grip won’t be just as firm.

HTC Touch Diamond Reviews at BrightHandThe cornerstone of the HTC Touch Diamond is TouchFLO 3D, HTC’s user interface that has been overlaid on Windows Mobile 6.1 Pro. This device is primarily target at consumers, who in general haven’t warmed up to the standard Windows Mobile UI. TouchFLO 3D essentially takes over the look and feel of this smartphone, and aside from a few things like the Start Menu it would be easy to forget that it is running Windows Mobile at all.
