http://reviews.cnet.co.ukAt first glance, the N93i seems to have little in common with its predecessor. Where's the functional matte black housing? Where are retro plastic keys? Colour LEDs and a stylish OLED display wink out seductively from beneath an oh-so-fashionable mirrored exterior, edged with chrome details. Around it, a two-tone body pits subtle silver tones gently against a body shell that can only be described as 'midnight aubergine' in colour. Honestly.
http://www.allaboutsymbian.comOpening up the Nokia N93i reveals changes too, both positive and negative. Most obvious is the flush, metallic keypad, probably a necessity given the new slimmer lines of the base unit. There are spidery rubber inlays to improve grip and give you a better sense of where the key boundaries are in the dark. Although this largely works well and there's a definite 'click', the amount of force needed to effect each keypress is fairly high and the N93i isn't as useable as its predecessor when it comes to text entry. I also didn't like the way there were no dividers between the Green/Edit and (more vitally) C/Red 'keys', it's going to be quite easy to go for 'C' and hit the hangup button by mistake, thus ending the application you're in.
http://www.cnet.com.au/When turning on the N93i for the first time, the first thing you realize is how impressive the screen looks compared with the previous N93, which itself had a great screen. The screen is sharp and vibrant, although you'll need to cover it in direct sunlight as it does get washed out. Images and videos taken with the camera are excellent compared with most camera-phones, and even rivals those of standalone digital cameras. We printed several 6x4-inch photos from the N93i and only those taken in low light were deemed to be unacceptable. However, sound recording for videos is a step down from the older N93 but the quality of the loudspeaker is great, even at max volume.
