Satyam to absorb Motorola’s Malaysia Software Development Center Move will increase synergies and competitiveness for both companies

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia – November 10, 2008 – Motorola and Satyam, a leading global consulting and information technology services provider, announced today that Satyam has acquired 128 employees of Motorola. This acquisition will create synergies and boost their competitiveness in Malaysia and throughout Asia-Pacific region. Motorola will divest from its software development center (SDC) in Cyberjaya. All 128 employees – along with the unit’s assets – will shift to Satyam.

The SDC is part of Motorola’s Home and Networks Mobility business and focuses on network management system development. “This strategic acquisition will integrate and strengthen Satyam’s product engineering services to Network Equipment Providers and Operators in the areas of element management, mobile solutions, and access networks” said Nishith Mathur, head of Satyam’s Technology Infrastructure business unit.

“This is a unique effort that will continue to drive Motorola’s strategy in Malaysia, will strengthen our competitive position, and improve cost structure and operational efficiencies,” said Sudhakar Ramakrishna, Corporate Vice President, Software Operations and WiMAX and LTE Engineering, Home and Networks Mobility.

When the deal is closed it is subject to regulatory and other customary conditions, but should be completed by December 31, 2008. Motorola will contract directly with Satyam for development services of its market-leading network management software.

“This partnership reinforces the promise of the Cyberjaya Multimedia Super Corridor – to attract new and dynamic research and development ecosystems,” said Virender Aggarwal, Head of Satyam’s Rest of the World Region. “In fact, Satyam is developing a 15-acre campus in the Super Corridor, which will create both operational efficiencies for related development projects and career opportunities for our new employees and many other people in area.”

Motorola employees who join Satyam will immediately have access to Satyam’s world-class training programs and they will gain exceptional career development opportunities.

“These Motorola professionals are steeped in capabilities that are in high-demand all over the globe,” Aggarwal said. “As such, they represent a very valuable group for our organization. We are always trying to increase our skills in strategic areas, and this agreement helps us in that regard significantly.”

For its part, Motorola is committed to delivering on customers’ expectations without disruption or distraction. “The Software Development Center provides significant efforts for both internal programs important to customer deliverables and for external Motorola’s global customers. Our commitment to those programs remains strong,” Ramakrishna said.

About Motorola in Malaysia
With over 30 years of corporate presence, Motorola Malaysia has established itself as a leading manufacturer of high technology wireless communications solutions and accessories for the global market. Motorola’s investments, operations and commitments in Malaysia are recognized by the Government.

Motorola is a large investor and employer in Malaysia. Penang is a major site for Motorola’s operations, as it is home to Motorola’s largest manufacturing site for two-way radio products in Asia and the only design centre for two-way radios in the region.

Milestone marks Motorola’s continued advancement in testing in field trials and development of commercial LTE solutions

SCHAUMBURG, Ill. – Nov. 3 2008 – Motorola, Inc. (NYSE: MOT) today announced it has completed the industry’s first over-the-air Long-Term Evolution (LTE) data sessions in the 700MHz spectrum using its LTE Radio Access Test Network and LTE eNode-B platform with a prototype LTE device. This testing milestone, achieved in Motorola labs and at an outdoor location in central Illinois, demonstrates the progress Motorola is achieving toward bringing its LTE solutions to market in 2009.

The sessions included mobile video streaming and various high data rate applications. The demonstrations also included execution of applications priority which guarantees throughput using quality of service (QoS) aspects of the LTE standards.

“This field test shows the progress we’ve made in preparing to deliver a commercial LTE solution for testing and early limited deployments in 2009,” said Darren McQueen, vice president, Wireless Broadband Access Technologies, Motorola Home & Networks Mobility. “We are testing our 700MHz and 2.6GHz products, which are expected for first commercial release next year, in real-world environments to ensure our products will meet the needs of mobile carriers who want to be first to market with LTE.”

The lower frequency bands provide better coverage and in-building penetration, which is a requirement for many mobile operators. In North America, the 700MHz spectrum auctioned earlier this year is part of the worldwide “digital dividend” – spectrum in the 470–862MHz bands that has been freed by the switch from analog to digital TV. The digital dividend is viewed by mobile operators in the U.S., Europe, and much of the rest of the world as a valuable resource as existing and new mobile broadband networks quickly consume current spectrum allocations and operators are pushed towards providing connections to rural areas.

In Europe digital dividend spectrum encompasses the current TV broadcast 790–862MHz bands. It is expected to be auctioned between 2009–2012, coinciding with mobile operators’ plans to deploy LTE.

Motorola’s flexible LTE eNode-B architecture can be tailored to meet each customer’s specific requirements by using frame based-mounted radios and remote radio heads. This design allows many spectrum bands to be supported in the early stage of LTE and accommodates a wide variety of LTE deployment scenarios across newly available spectrum as well as existing GSM, UMTS and CDMA bands. The 700MHz radio head for example, can be modified to operate in 790-862MHz to provide operators a solution to deploy LTE in the “digital dividend” spectrum as soon as it becomes available in the various regions.

LTE promises to deliver an unrivalled user experience with ultra fast broadband and very low latency with lowest cost per bit for data services. With LTE’s ability to deliver a highly compelling user experience and to interconnect with other access technologies, operators will be able to integrate their LTE and fixed line broadband networks. LTE creates the opportunity to deliver subscribers truly seamless broadband communications that accelerates the delivery of personal media experiences and brings exciting new applications like video streaming to enable media mobility.

Mobile imaging experience redefined with Motorola and Kodak technology

LIBERTYVILLE, Ill. — Nov. 3, 2008 –Motorola (NYSE: MOT), a leader in wireless communications will bring the mobile imaging powerhouse, MOTOZINE™ ZN5, to North America today, available exclusively for T-Mobile USA customers.
MOTOZINE ZN5 delivers a picture-perfect camera and mobile experience. ZN5 is the first mobile phone to combine Motorola’s ModeShift technology and KODAK Imaging Technology. Together, they redefine the quality, convenience and connectivity of mobile imaging devices. The dedicated, simple share key allows one-touch sharing with friends and family while on the go through access to: picture messaging, T-Mobile MyAlbum, Kodak Gallery and compatible Bluetooth enabled printers1, 2.

“The arrival of the MOTOZINE ZN5 at T-Mobile provides a new opportunity for customers to instantly capture and share each special moment in their lives,” said Dennis Burke, vice president, Sales, Motorola Mobile Devices. “The MOTOZINE ZN5 simplifies mobile imaging while empowering users with the tools they traditionally rely on in a digital camera.”

“The MOTOZINE ZN5 is a terrific phone for T-Mobile customers who value instant connections with loved ones,” said Travis Warren, Director of Device Marketing at T-Mobile. “Who wants to lug around several tech devices during the holidays when
one – the ZN5 – will suffice, making it easier than ever to snap and share photos with family and friends.”

Built to Shoot
ZN5 puts image capture first with a high-resolution screen and one of the fastest click-to-click times available. To launch the camera, simply slide open the lens cover to transform the phone into an ultra-fast, natural-feeling 5 megapixel imaging device. Unlike most “camera phones” on the market, the ZN5 has the feel of a digital camera with the shutter button, flash and viewer in the standard placement consumers expect. Plus, with auto focus for sharp, vivid pictures, a Xenon flash, an included 1 GB memory card (with 4GB of optional external memory support) to store favorite images, optimized settings for low-light environments and red-eye reduction, there is no longer a need to carry two devices. ZN5 is both a phone and a digital camera.

Built-in KODAK Imaging Technology ensures that every picture taken with ZN5 looks its best. When KODAK Imaging Technology is combined with KODAK PERFECT TOUCH Technology, images become brighter and more vivid on the spot. Multiple capture modes, like multi-shot and panorama, which automatically stitches together continuous shots taken on the horizon line into a single, extended image, makes taking photos fun.

Built to Share
With one click, photos can be viewed right from the home screen; no menus, no searching. This multimedia device provides a fun, quick and easy way to share favorite photos with friends and family. Using high speed Wi-Fi or GSM networks, full resolution pictures can be wirelessly uploaded in one simple click to the KODAK Gallery (www.kodakgallery.com)¹. Consumers also have additional options for sharing, whether sending over MMS¹, transferring to a computer via USB, showing slideshows on a TV (TV output/AV cable included in box), or using Bluetooth wireless technology2. T-Mobile customers who purchase a ZN5 will receive 50 free prints from Kodak Gallery (www.kodakgallery.com).

Built to Talk
In phone mode, ZN5 features Motorola’s patented CrystalTalk™ technology to help callers hear and be heard, even in noisy environments. With dual compatibility for GSM and Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN), users can connect in more areas around the world3 and enjoy high-speed wireless connections to surf the Web1 via a full HTML browser. To complete the communications experience, ZN5 also supports SMS, MMS, IM and personal e-mail1.

SCHAUMBURG, Ill. —Sept. 30, 2008 — Motorola, Inc. (NYSE: MOT) today announced the completion of its acquisition of AirDefense, Inc., a leading wireless LAN (WLAN) security provider.

As previously announced on July 28, 2008, Motorola signed a definitive agreement to acquire privately-held AirDefense, which will become a wholly owned subsidiary of Motorola integrated into Motorola’s Enterprise Mobility business.

“The acquisition of AirDefense by Motorola was the logical next step to a very successful three-year OEM partnership,” said Kathy Paladino, president of Motorola’s Enterprise Mobility business. “Together with AirDefense, Motorola will secure enterprise networks with a common platform solution providing superior indoor and outdoor wireless protection for users operating in a variety of settings including corporate headquarters, manufacturing and distribution plants, and remote branch offices.”

Enterprises are increasingly seeking reliable, secure wireless networks from trusted suppliers of mission critical communications. AirDefense, with its patented technology, is the premier provider of wireless intrusion prevention systems (WIPS) that enable corporations to secure their networks against wireless security threats and to comply with regulatory and industry requirements. This acquisition allows Motorola to further complement its assets in RF diagnostics and planning as well as its strengths in RF management.

“We are excited to unite our people, processes and technology with Motorola to ensure secure wireless mobility today and in the future as customers migrate to 802.11n, mesh networking and fixed-mobile convergence,” said Mike Potts, former chief executive officer of AirDefense. “The AirDefense solution has already been successfully delivered, installed and validated with over 800 leading enterprises worldwide, including numerous direct Motorola customers. The Motorola-AirDefense platform will continue to exceed the global needs of the WIPS market allowing our customers to enjoy comprehensive wireless security regardless of their WLAN infrastructure.”

Based upon the success, trust and valued relationship through the years, the combination of Motorola’s WLAN infrastructure and AirDefense’s best-of-breed features will further enhance network security offerings with next-generation, gap-free security for every enterprise user via integrated wireless firewall, AAA, VPN, locationing and industry-best WIPS ensuring FIPS and Common Criteria EAL-4 validated security for PCI, SOX and HIPAA-compliant protection around the clock.
“This transaction is a tremendous opportunity for Motorola to enhance its WLAN portfolio by utilizing AirDefense’s relationships and technology to further integrate WIPS security solutions into our WLAN infrastructure offerings,” said Sujai Hajela, vice president and general manager, Motorola Enterprise Wireless LAN division. “We look forward to deepening our integration to meet our customers’ demand for a secure and reliable all-wireless enterprise at the lowest total cost of ownership while continuing to offer and enhance AirDefense’s vendor-agnostic security and management solutions.”

Enterprise WLAN is part of Motorola’s portfolio of innovative wireless broadband solutions and services that complement and complete IP networks. Delivering IP coverage to virtually all spaces both indoors and outdoors, the portfolio includes fixed broadband, mesh, broadband over powerline, and Enterprise WLAN solutions for private and public networks that, together, truly deliver the wireless enterprise.

Motorola features live demonstrations of ecosystem devices and tailors WiMAX experiences for home and on the go for Millennials, road warriors and home enhancers

CHICAGO – WIMAX World 2008 – 30 September 2008 – Motorola, Inc. (NYSE: MOT), a leading provider of mobile WiMAX equipment and deployed commercial networks worldwide, will unveil new products and demonstrate how WiMAX can accelerate the delivery of personal media experiences during WiMAX World 2008, Sept. 30 – Oct. 2, in Chicago. Motorola is in stand #601 at McCormick Place.

Motorola’s demonstrations will address solutions for Millennials, who need to be in touch and live via social networks; road warriors, for whom productivity on the go is a must; and homelife enhancers, the busy set of parents, retired professionals and others who want technology to improve their lives.

Since last year’s show, when Motorola successfully demonstrated the world’s first mobile WiMAX handoffs during a cruise on the Chicago River, Motorola has become one of the first companies to achieve WiMAX Forum® certification of its WiMAX infrastructure – the WAP 25400 that was certified in June. Motorola has introduced a diverse portfolio of customer premise equipment (CPE) and network infrastructure and has nearly doubled its number of contracts, now at 22, for commercial WiMAX networks globally. The company is a leader in shipments of mobile WiMAX network infrastructure and CPE according to several analyst reports.

“Motorola recognized early on the potential for WiMAX to meet the needs of operators in emerging markets, greenfield deployments and to provide cost-effective, high-speed mobile broadband access,” said Darren McQueen, vice president, wireless broadband access technologies, Motorola Home & Networks Mobility. “We’ve helped customers around the world successfully launch commercial WiMAX service, win market share and are seeing new applications and opportunities for WiMAX to accelerate the delivery of personal media experiences.”

Motorola also has vastly expanded the ecosystem of CPE, devices and chipsets from a variety of manufacturers that are compatible with or used in its WiMAX products. This ecosystem was showcased by Motorola during live WiMAX demonstrations with a host of applications and services at several major trade shows around the world, including CES and CTIA in the U.S. and WiMAX Forum events in Amsterdam and Singapore, and will be a part of the Motorola booth at WiMAX World.

Motorola also has taken further steps in boosting the global WiMAX ecosystem by launching its WiMAX interoperability testing program with locations in Arlington Heights, Ill., and Taiwan. At these two facilities, Motorola customers can validate that a device is compatible with their WiMAX network infrastructure and receive advice from Motorola as to which customer premises products and mobile devices they should consider.

WiMAX World Demos and Displays
In its booth at WiMAX World, Motorola is featuring zones on operator business cases and showing how WiMAX devices and applications can meet the needs of Millennials, road warriors and home enhancers. Motorola’s growing, award-winning device and CPE portfolio will be among an ecosystem of CPE and devices used in these demonstrations. The devices will include the new USBw 100 and the CPEi 750, both of which use the Beceem BCS200 chipset.

Motorola demonstrations will include:

    * Media Mobility, representing the end-to-end delivery of personal media from video encoding and encapsulation, network and media management, WiMAX access, WiMAX enabled devices and innovative media mobility use cases
* Opportunities for operators to evaluate the WiMAX business case
* wi4 Wireless Access Point (WAP) 450 outdoor solution complete with outdoor Base Control Unit II (BCUII) and integrated backhaul. The wi4 WAP 450 is a compact, high-power, carrier class access point that is paired with the common platform BCUII to enhance network coverage and capacity while reducing OPEX and CAPEX.
* Network and operations management solutions including Network Management System (NMS), and information on the Service Activation Gateway (SAG), and Integrated Billing and Operational Support Systems (iBOSS) solutions that keep carrier-grade WiMAX networks running at optimal performance
* Simultaneous use of WiMAX, WiFi and 3G connections via channel bonding to illustrate how operators can maintain the relationship with their customers even when the customer is roaming
* Online gaming and social networking
* A series of demonstrations by Roundbox such as datacast active wallpaper, datacast radio and electronic service guide

Motorola Speakers at WiMAX World
Motorola Executive Vice President Dan Moloney will present a keynote, “Enabling Media Mobility Through 4G,” on Oct. 1, 2008. Five other Motorola representatives are also scheduled to speak at WiMAX World 2008. For a complete list, please visit http://www.motorola.com/wi4events.
